Hey! I’m Ruth and
My background is in design and illustration, and after graduating from my MA in 2007, I spent a decade working as an educational children’s author and illustrator.
.I’ve got over twenty years of work experience in sustainability—from ethical retail (including worker’s co-operatives, refill shops, natural beauty manufacturers, and fair trade homewares) through to community agriculture and organic market gardening.
If you’ve got an ethical lifestyle dilemma, or want advice about sustainable alternatives for a favourite product, drop me a comment or message and I’ll do my best to help out.
The Green Shopper Promise
After giving the matter a lot of thought, I have decided to add some ‘affiliate links’ into this website in the hope that one day it may become financially self-sufficient. In simple terms, it means that if you click through on the links of some of the products I recommend, I will receive a tiny commission on the sale. I absolutely promise that I will never use this to recommend something that I wouldn’t buy myself! I will always mark these links with an asterisk, and will continue to recommend the products that I love regardless of whether they are part of an afilliate marketing scheme.
The Green Shopper’s affiliate programme AWIN uses ‘cookies’ to track these links. These are actually tiny files from the internet rather than tasty treats, sorry about that. The cookies are left in the ‘cache’ on your computer, which is easy to clear out if you don’t want them (have a look in your web browser preferences).
Perhaps one day I’ll share one of my favourite edible cookie recipes with you instead!
I also have a small mailing list. If you want to join it, use the ‘Subscribe to Blog’ box in the right hand bar. Your email address will be stored online and password protected. I promise I will never share your email address with anyone else.
