Hey! I’m Ruth and I am a freelance educational writer and content creator with a passion for sustainability and ethics. The Green Shopper is here to make it easier for you to make informed and positive ethical shopping decisions.
My background is in design and illustration, and after graduating from my MA in 2007, I spent a decade working as an educational children’s author and illustrator. My main current client is Ailuna—a sustainability engagement app for businesses, teams and individuals. Other clients include Ethical Consumer Magazine, New Internationalist, Tate Enterprises and Franklin Watts.
I’ve got over twenty years of work experience in sustainability—from ethical retail (including worker’s co-operatives, refill shops, natural beauty manufacturers, and fair trade homewares) through to community agriculture and organic market gardening. In my free time I love yoga, cycling, foraging, growing organic vegetables, pickling and preserving.
If you’ve got an ethical lifestyle dilemma, or want advice about sustainable alternatives for a favourite product, drop me a comment or message and I’ll do my best to help out.
